Drizly Must Pay $4 Million for Stolen Tips — Has anything similar happened to you in New York?

In December 2024, the delivery platform Drizly (formerly part of Uber) was forced to pay $4 million in unpaid tips to more than 8,300 delivery drivers in New York. Although customers thought they were tipping drivers, the money was being kept by the liquor store owners.

Why this matters

  • Even large companies can violate workers’ rights.

  • Delivery workers are entitled to their money —even if they were paid in cash.

How does this affect you?

If you work in delivery (Uber Eats, DoorDash, Instacart, etc.) and you didn't receive your tips or are paid in cash without a receipt, you may have a legal case.
